The National Speech & Debate Association is partnering with the Broward County Public Schools Active Voice Project to kickoff the 2018 National Speech & Debate Tournament with a LIVE event called Powerful Voices. Meaningful Changes.
This event will showcase the importance of empowering students to exercise their voices to express their views and participate actively in an open exchange of ideas as taught through speech and debate.

The power of speech and debate will further be reinforced by Broward County School Superintendent Robert Runcie and NSDA Executive Director J. Scott Wunn.
Following the formal presentation, all attendees will be invited to attend a workshop presented by the Broward County Public Schools Active Voice Project. Participants will learn a new, engaging “Solution-Oriented Debate” format and leave with content and ideas to implement on any team or in any classroom.
