The use of a manuscript is required during performance, and competitors are permitted to use it as a prop with one limitation: the manuscript must remain intact and in contact with the competitor’s body at all times. A performer must not throw their binder or pages from their binder into the air, drop it on the ground, or otherwise lose control of the manuscript.
Additionally, use of visual aids is not permitted, and pictures, graphics, and/or illustrations are considered a visual aid. Even if the work you are performing has graphics in the original material, you are not permitted to display them. For example, you must not turn your manuscript around to show the audience a graph from the original material that is printed in your binder.
