How do I add a student?

We encourage students to create their own account (username & password) at www.speechanddebate.org/join before being added to a roster. Coaches are not able to create or change student passwords, and some schools’ email systems block password reset emails from the NSDA. To add a student’s account to your NSDA roster, please:

 

    1. Log into your NSDA account
    2. Use the “search records” bar located at the top of your screen to search for an individual’s name or email address.
    3. Copy their NSDA ID number.
    4. Navigate to your school roster page
    5. Click the + Add Student button and on the next screen, click the green Add Existing Student button. On the next screen, paste in their NSDA ID number and then click Add when their name appears in the results list. You will be asked to confirm their addition to your roster. Upon clicking Confirm, they will be placed on your roster.
If a student does not already have their own NSDA account, you can add them manually:
    1. Log into your NSDA account and navigate to your school roster.
    2. Click the green +Add Student button and then click the green Add New Student option that appears on the next screen.
    3. Enter the student’s First and Last name and their graduation year. You can also add their email address and middle name if you wish.
    4. Click the Add button to place the new student on your roster.
    5. Once on the roster, students can add a password to their NSDA account by using the password reset link: https://speechanddebate.org/reset-password
