Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States. He served from 1969 until his resignation in 1974.
He had a long career in politics, serving as Vice President under President Dwight D. Eisenhower and representing the state of California in both houses of Congress.
He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1946 after serving in the Naval Reserve in World War II.
He graduated from Whittier College in California in 1934. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1937 from Duke University School of Law.
Throughout college and high school, President Nixon was known as a great debater, winning several championships.
