The Department of Communication Studies at the University of Texas at Austin has opened its search for the position of full-time professional-track faculty member and Director of Individual Events. The professional track position would be at the assistant level. Expectations include: teaching a 2/2, administering IE operations, coaching IE, hosting tournaments and summer workshops that contribute to the program’s mission. M.A. and history of successful IE coaching in AFA/NFA formats is required. Ph.D. and history of successful IE program administration is preferred. The position starts August 16, 2025. The salary for the nine-month full-time is competitive and comes with the additional opportunity for future summer employment as the Co-Director of the University of Texas National Institute of Forensics.
